Description
This beautiful blue set of dining ware is perfectly imperfect for a mindful morning breakfast of muesli, cut fruit and green tea, or coconut chia pudding, avocado on nut toast and a double shot espresso, or scrambled eggs on spinach and mushrooms, miso soup with sesamee seeds and seaweed and a wheatgrass shot… So many options with this delightful five piece set. This set, includes some pieces that emerged from the kiln with some idiosyncrasies.
On the rim of the bowl is one small 3mmx1mm ground glaze surface due to debris in the kiln floating onto it during the firing process.
The medium spoon has been replaced with a similar piece to the original, however it has been made from black clay. The original was broken during transfer to the kiln by yours truly 🙁
The Espresso cup has two dribbles that got a little carried away… and carried onto the kiln shelf, which had to be ground off then sanded smooth.
All three imperfections are shown in the gallery images, and I am more than happy to send you more images/videos of the “imperfections”.
As an eco-conscious creator, it is my opinion that if still completely functional, pieces with imperfections deserve to still be enjoyed. This set has been prices to cover some of the base costs of creation. My kiln is fueled by solar panels, I recycle and reuse every gram of clay that I can reclaim from my making process, and even have reclaimed glaze for future use on pot planters. I package my items in recycled materials, and am in the process of converting to non plastic tape but I still have some plastic stuff (left over from my previous businesses before I was more environmentally aware) that needs to be used up, so I am using it till I run out. Anyway – enough about that – here’s some dimensions and volume details:
Espresso Cup – 75mls volume approx. 8.5cm width at top, 9.5cm deep incl handle, and 6cm high
Small Bowl – 250mls volume approx. slightly oval shaped – 12cm wide, 11cm deep and 6cm high
Small plate – 15cm diameter x 2.5cm high approx.
Small spoon – volume approx. 1/4 tsp, 10.5 x 2.5 x 1.5cm
Medium spoon – volume approx. 3/4 tsp, 12 x 3.5 x 2.5cm
