These little hand hugging cuppos have been hand built to create an undulating surface for which this delightful effect of these glazes run and pool, creating beautiful multi toned drips of glaze; certainly a tactilephile’s delight 😀
Each one can contain approx 70ml of fluid.
Each piece requires an initial 20 min session to form, a further 20 min session to refine the edges and stamp with artists mark and year stamp. It is then is allowed to dry, bisque fired, washed and then hand painted with 5 coats of glaze, then fired a second time, before finally being sanded down on the base to remove any burrs formed during the shrinking process of glaze firing. it is then weighed, measured, filled with water to establish volume, photographed, and catalogued for display and/or sale. All told, each piece spends at least 2 hours in my hands, being fed a stream of reiki and love, sealed in by 1200C. (Their maker, i.e. me 😉 is a Sagittarius, in Sun, Moon and Rising, so its no wonder I like to seal things with a kiss of fire 😉 )
